Bog Line Smokers
Parkhill · Ontario · CA
Sheet 30

Where are Bog Line smokers made?

In our shop at 33015 Sylvan Rd, just outside Parkhill, Ontario. Every pit is designed and fabricated in-house by the Bog Line crew — nothing is imported and re-badged.

Who founded Bog Line?

Nick Ince and Will Rempel. They were working in oil and gas when Nick went looking to rent a decent smoker for his wedding and couldn't find one in Canada. So they built their own. One thing led to another, and now it's a full-time shop.

What kinds of smokers do you build?

Traditional hardwood-burning offset smokers from the 94-gallon Small Block up to 1,000-gallon commercial pits, on skids or house-built trailers. We also build direct-heat pits, live-fire tables and the campfire cook pit, plus one-off custom builds with hot-rod and patina packages.

What is an offset smoker?

A smoker with the fire in a separate firebox beside the cook chamber. Heat and smoke travel through the chamber and out the stack, so the meat cooks low and slow on clean hardwood smoke rather than over direct flame. It's the standard pit in Central Texas barbecue.

What is the Bog Line Small Block?

Our 94-gallon backyard offset: a 48″ × 24″ cook chamber and a 20″ × 28″ firebox, all in ¼″ steel, about 800 lb, with a Tel-Tru gauge, ball-valve grease drain and a removable 89″ stack. It's a standard build — sold as shown, with no modifications, upgrades or finish options — for $4,900 CAD plus HST. See the Small Block page for everything.

Why do you use propane tanks?

Reclaimed propane tanks make great cook chambers. It isn't about cost — the smooth, rounded inside moves air properly, which gives you an even cooking surface. And they look good.

Do you build custom smokers?

Almost everything we build is custom. We have a baseline package for each size and style, then we work with you on size, layout, features and finish to suit how and what you cook. The one exception is the 94-gallon Small Block: it's a standard build, so it isn't modified or upgraded. Custom offsets start at 250 gallons.

Can you build restaurant or catering smokers?

Yes — commercial pits are where Bog Line started. Our customers include restaurants, caterers and service clubs cooking for hundreds of people at a time.

Can smokers be trailer mounted?

Yes. We build our own trailers with wood storage, from single-axle up to tandem-axle units, and multi-trailer rigs for caterers.

What size smoker do I need?

It depends on how many people you feed and how often. The 94-gallon Small Block is built for the backyard. Caterers and restaurants usually land somewhere between 250 and 1,000 gallons. Tell us what you cook and for how many, and we'll talk you through it.

How long does a custom build take?

It depends on the build and what's already in the shop — check the Build Board to see what we're working on right now. Call the shop for a current lead time on your pit.

What fuel do you burn?

Live fire only: hardwood and charcoal. No propane burners, no pellets. The Small Block runs beautifully on white oak.

Do you ship across Canada?

Yes. We ship across Canada and to the US, and we've sent pits as far as Germany. Shipping is quoted per build — call the shop for a quote.

Can I pick my smoker up in Ontario?

Yes. Pickup is from the shop just outside Parkhill, Ontario. Delivery is also available — ask us for a quote.

Do you build live-fire grills?

Yes — direct-heat pits, live-fire tables and the Bog Line campfire cook pit. If you want to cook over the coals, we've got you.

What is the Bog Line Smoke Show?

Our BBQ festival in Parkhill: pitmasters, live-fire cooking, a hot rod and bike show, live music and a kids zone. The first one was June 14, 2025, and proceeds went to local North Middlesex schools.
